Loose or
slipped slates or tiles occur with "Nail Fatigue". Over
time the nail holding
the tile perishes and the tile simply slips. The problem with nail
fatigue is that the nails are all the same age and have had the
same exposure, so as you replace one, another is working it's way
loose. A never ending battle!
Perished Sarking Felt & Back Pointing
Tiles have gaps and cracks that
allow wind, snow and rain to enter in harsh weather as well as
allowing the tiles to move and rattle. Sarking Felt is used to
direct any wind Driven snow or rain back down to a gutter and to
minimise draughts. Some roofs have mortar behind tiles for similar
reasons. Both systems are outdated, perish over time and do not
work effectively in the first |
The Answer is Polyurethane Foam
Once applied there is a continuous
sheet of foam adhered to all tiles. The foam reaches around and
between all timberwork effectively sealing and strongly bonding
the entire roof carcass and tiles, together. Read The
Advantages of our Under spray systems.
